Put simply, I would say this because I expect to be allowed to identify as male, therefore, my male preference dictates that I be gay. Now, if I only went in for men, I would happily call myself gay, not straight. Does that make me gay or straight? I’ve heard that trans people often get heckled with this question by curious enquirers. I am bisexual, and have had relationships with both genders, but my most common preference is men (including, like, little fanboy crushes and stuff, teehee).
I couldn’t actually tell if I did, but I got to thinking. Shortly after I came out to one of my friends, he remembered that I had a wee crush on one of our mutual friends and asked if I still did.
